International audienceIn our two previous articles, we put forward a tripartition of play that was founded on unconsciousmechanisms, and which thereby closely matches the Freudian field. After “ ‘trompe l’oeil’ play” foundedon negation and “lure play” founded on disavowal, here we study “supplementation play” as foundedon foreclosure. We formulate the hypothesis that this kind of play allows for a real to be shaped and foran imaginarization of what was unable to be symbolized. As an “attempt at cure”, it still runs the risk oftransforming into reiteration or a therapeutic dead end. So as to envisage taking care of it in a caresetting, we underline the necessity of taking this paradox into account.Dans deux articles précédents, nous proposons une tripartition des jeux, fondée sur les mécanismesinconscients, qui épouse le champ freudien. Après le « jeu trompe-l'oeil » fondé sur la dénégation et le« jeu leurre » fondé sur le démenti est étudié ici le « jeu suppléance » fondé sur la forclusion.
